Golden Chick - Wharton

What a disappointment. To begin with, I verified they had wifi before ordering. So, I ordered a salad, okra and drink. I went to use the bathroom before my food came but the toilet was clogged with paper towels. When I tried to connect to their guest wifi, it needed a password. I asked for it but they didn't know it and asked me to wait. When my food arrived, everything looked fine. The salad looked crisp and fresh but once I got to the middle, the lettuce was soggy and wet with water. I drained out a ridiculous amount of water from the salad.There was also a moldy piece of broccoli in it. I didn't get to eat the salad I paid for because of this. AND I never did get the wifi password. This was the first and last time I will be visiting this establishment.

Had a great time here. We live just outside if Galveston, and this was my first time eating at a Golden Chick. Debra, the manager, was great. She had us laughing and joking. She even let me try a piece of the roasted chicken, since I had never been there. The staff was helpful and the kitchen was clean. All of this, and they only had a couple of hours till closing, on a Friday night. So kudos to the Friday night shift at the Golden Chick for an amazing first experience.

We just finished a fabulous meal here after church. They were short staffed but that doesn?t mean the service lacked. Debbie went above and beyond to make sure we had our food and I feel we got more attention that a traditional restaurant setting. The world would be a better place if establishments had this kind of service. She needs a raise for sure!

This chick is not golden...it ain't even bronze or silver. The mac and cheese is thick and pasty and the dirty rice taste wild. It should be called dirty wild hog rice. Its just as pasty as the mac and cheese. Gross!!!

Let me start off with this place is awesome from the customer service to the grub itself. The gentleman working on 07/08/22 did their jobs to the fullest. My family and I couldn 't figure out what was for dinner after a hard day of moving my dad and the golden chick was on the way outta town and we stopped as we had never ate at this chicken place before. We all decided we wanted chicken strips so we got a 25 piece family meal with sides and some tea. The price was something you couldn 't pass up unless you were making chicken at home. Then let me tell you they have this sauce there that 's signature called zing sauce. We didn 't know what it was so we asked for details and then through the speaker I heard tasting is believing . So we pulled up to the window and got to give it a try. Boy that sauce is the business. At the window we met the coolest drive thru guys ever. He was all about servein the customer. We made a 35 min drive home and proceeded to eat out dinner. The food was all still hot and fresh tasting. The French fries are them ones that have the good crunch to um and the mashed potatoes we thick and filling. The strips are so juicy and the spicy was that heat you want for spicy. The rolls are nice and sweet with a perfect golden crisp. If you like golden chick or if you have never tried it before and your in Wharton you need to stop by and give much respect. We were complete strangers and were treated like family. My family and I will definitely go back. Much luv my 7/08/22 evening crew.
