The Railway - West Wickham

I would give a rating of 4 stars, but I ended up giving 5 stars because my sister's prawn cocktail was served frozen, and my oldest son's soup was warmer than hot. The overall service was quick and efficient, and the food was delicious. I appreciated that they asked if I needed vegetarian or vegan options before serving. The staff was friendly and regularly checked in to see if we wanted more drinks. Unfortunately, they weren't wearing masks, which was a concern for my mother since she had a heart attack last year. However, we had a lovely Christmas dinner, and I would come back, provided the food isn't frozen or not hot enough next time.

The dining experience was really enjoyable. We sampled various appetizers and desserts, and everything was delicious. The woofers rings, nachos, and halloumi mushroom burgers were especially delightful. The outdoor seating area is particularly lovely during the summer. I would definitely recommend this place. The only area for improvement is the service; it seemed there weren't enough staff members, or some were just a bit scattered. I found myself going in circles trying to ask a server for a tissue, but she either didn’t see me or ignored my request.

It's a great spot to take a break during your ride for a delicious meal paired with chili jam and beer. Highly recommended!

Food was lovely, staff superb as always. Little let down by the fixtures and fittings. Stairs very creaky and tired upto the toilets, multiple bulbs do not work around the pub so has dark spots everywhere. Also, chairs and tables wobbly!
