Cafe Silvestre - West Valley City

I visited the restaurant with a group from work. The outside of the building doesn’t do justice to how nice an comfy this place is. The food was good and comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area… maybe a little better. Server was great. She was amazing. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican food. I will definitely returning to try other plates.

Pretty good little hidden place. I’ve never known this was here. Went before a hockey game. It was pretty good. My friend had the smothered rice she loved it! Chips salsa were fantastic! I had a bean cheese burrito smothered style. It was good! Guacamole was pretty expensive, I thought. I probably wouldn’t have had it had I known the price. Cute place though. Staff was nice!

I read a review that this place has the best chimichangas in the state, and I think they might be right!!! My husband and I love chimichangas and measure a Mexican restaurant's re-visitability based on their chimichanga. We'll be back for more!!! We were pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was. The refried beans were creamy and flavorful, the rice perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the chimichanga crispy to perfection, gooey on the inside, and the tortilla was the perfect balance of crispy shell without feeling like it's job was to fill you up. Some restaurants think you can pass a chimichanga off with minimal meat or flavor on the inside, but not here! I deducted one star due to the fact that the entrance and wait area is not welcoming, well marked, or easy to get someone's attention to be seated. This establishment is definitely family run and the wait staff does not have a good communication system between the person taking a drink order and the person delivering drinks. If I was just measuring food, I'd give it 5 stars.

This is our families most favorite place to eat. It's not your typical Mexican Food chain. The good is authentic as well as the people.

Every time I come here I’m never disappointed. Food is amazing atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming.
