Not the most luxurious of locations - next to W Ryde train station - but fabulously fresh food and also nice service. It is always busy and that is no surprise. Also it is BYO!

This is about the 4th time I have been here with an ex colleague. Today I took my wife also and as usual we had a great meal at a very reasonable price. It was very busy today and is only a small p[lace so if you want a guaranteed table then I suggest you book.

We discovered this restaurant recently & it has fast become our most favourite place to go for Japanese take-away. The restaurant is conveniently placed at the centre of West Ryde town next to the railway station & bus terminus. With over a hundred Japanese & Korean food items, the menu is quite extensive. We often order lunch specials like the chilli pork or beef & sashimi/sushi/tempura & a bowl of miso soup on the side. Everything served is very fresh & are good sized portions. All the prices on the menu are reasonable & the lunch specials are excellent at $11.90 & the soup just $1. The staff are really lovely, helpful & friendly. The service is always with the a smile & the waiting period is very short.From all the Japanese restaurants that we’ve tried out locally, Yatai in our opinion is the best!
