When we went to buy a pool pass for two people it was $26.50. I would also like to know the interior is still the same as when I was a kid. The indoor pool has not been updated and the hot tub did not work. The pool outside was nice. It has a beautiful location and a great View but some Services need to be updated. Even though we have the pool pass and had bought the pool party pass one of the kids at the party needed a towel and they were unable to give the kid a towel. Went to the front desk and asked why and was told they did not have any towels to give. When a hotel says they do not have any towels that is definitely a red flag.
The lodge itself needs some updates. Looks like they are doing some but it's a slow go. The rooms are spacious and have an outdoor balcony but are in need of serious updates. The AC works but is very noisy and I noticed upon closer inspection that there appeared to be ashes or something in the unit. We didn't notice it until the last morningwenwete there but the bed closest to the unit had a few small black spots that smudged when touched. The beds have pretty hard mattresses and the blankets are thin and the pillows flat. We brought our own pillows and blankets but the ones on the bed have seen better days. The bathroom is small and needs a major update. See the pics. The lodge itself has a small gameroom, indoor and outdoor pools that are in good shape. It needs some updates but overall is comparable to some others we have stayed in around the Midwest. They also have a campground and cabins available. The restaurant has good pizza but they were out of a lot of food including french fries, their signature giant pretzel, among other things. The bourbon salmon was covered in enough sauce for 3 pieces. The Mac and cheese is actually pretty good. The chicken tenders were good. The staff were all helpful. Like other places they look understaffed but they were helpful whenever we needed anything.Overall we enjoyed our stay, particularly the trails, pools, and beaches at the lake. Would we stay there again? Possibly but unless there are major updates I prefer some of the other regional options such as Mohican. On the plus side we went to Portsmouth which is 20 minutes away and I recommend you visit the shops and restaurants downtown which is experiencing a revival.
Myself and 5 grandkids from 7 yr old to 13 yrs old actually stayed in a cabin but had access to the wonderful outdoor pool at the lodge. The kids especially loved the diving board!! They also enjoyed our trip to the Nature Center a few miles away along with a half mile hike in the woods. They want to come back next year
Idk.. manager must been on a power trip. I will not sleep in there rooms. Some have had beg bugs. But the pool is good for a swim just leave your emotional support dog at home. They do not want them by the pool. Mean lady. Both of them.
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was nice, the room was clean and the food was good!
