Penguin's Comedy Club

Another Midwest gem of a comedy club Slobbering John Melendez claims to have headloined. As usual, he went on stage with his classic uniform of worn out jeans and a black t shirt to hide his moobs and love handles. Complete with awkward hand placement in and out of his pockets or crossing his arms to cover his gross body. You can tell he isn't comfortable on stage in his own grey skin. The act has been the same for 25+ years...he brags about knowing the Kardashians, asking celebrities nobody remembers insulting questions, dead names Caitlyn Jenner and then talks about how awesome Jay Leno was for taking pity on John and not firing him as Jay never fired anyone on TTS staff regardless of how far and fast they fell from announcer to wannabe staff writer a.k.a coffee fetching prankster man-child. Currently John has a podcast where he drunkenly airs grievances while claiming victories over perceived enemies on the internet. Complete with no guests as not even Army Majuh Richard Ojeda can tolerate the drunken ramblings of a failed father with mentally ill adult children he still claims are minors.

Place was permanently closed down a while ago, despite showing up as open. Owners never changed their online profile and status.

The Open Mic on Wednesday evenings is the best. No cover!

Staff were very friendly, clean, much better than a few years ago. Comedian was good and tried to involve the audience. 6 cocktails equalled $38. Will return, thanks for the improvements!!
