Tipsy Bear Bistro - West Branch

A delightful hidden gem located in North West Branch.

Without a doubt, this was the best salmon I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The owner, Fred, is the perfect host, with impressive wine knowledge and a knack for conversation that is rivaled only by his culinary talents. I happily make a two-hour drive just to enjoy a meal here.

This is our favorite restaurant to visit whenever we're in West Branch. The food is consistently amazing! Fred is an exceptionally talented chef. However, we do think the decor could use some updating—especially the cleaning closet right by the entrance. That space could be transformed into a great room for showcasing their wines!

My friend and I stumbled upon this place for lunch and we were really pleased with our selections. We each ordered an apple cider mixed drink that was delightful, topped with a caramel cinnamon rim, and we had a smoked ham and cheese croissant. The herb mayo in the sandwich added just the right amount of tanginess. The bistro's interior is quite charming, featuring an eclectic collection of wine that adorns the walls, creating a cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through West Branch who is looking for something different from the standard fare.

We stopped by on our way to Mackinac Island, and we were thrilled with the delicious food! I ordered the salmon and shrimp special, and it was fantastic. The cocktails were also excellent!
