Skillets Bistro - WEST BATHURST

Wow wonderful breakfast, excellent coffee all at a very reasonable price. What a great way to start a lazy Sunday. Plenty of breakfast choices. Lovely outlook on the terrace great views of the course. We had wonderful pancakes with fresh cream, maple syrup and fruit salad. I had the baked eggs chorizo sausage and spinach which was to die for. Think i will make Sunday breakfast in Skillets at the Bathurst Golf Club a regular occurrence.

We made a booking for valentines day, on arrival we were not greeted more so ignored. The menu was misleading and had incorrect pricing when we challenged the bistro manger she was rude and unhelpful. We ordered anyway so as to not make a scene. We were made feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The food was way over cooked and the mousse was gritty and tasteless. There is no wonder there were only three tables being used on valentines night. The waitresses seemed to be having issues with all of these tables. I have been looking forward to dining at Skillet for a long time however I will not be returning nor will I be recommending to friends or colleagues.

We were with a large group on the first Saturday night of Skillets trading at Bathurst Golf Club. The food was exceptional and more restaurant quality than a club bistro. Varied menu at reasonable prices. Each course was perfectly cooked and presented which is no mean feat when serving a group. Staff service was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Drinks at club prices. We had a memorable evening and highly recommend Skillets to locals and travellers alike. We'll certainly be returning again when next in Bathurst.

The meals are huge and so reasonably priced with a good selection that should just about suit everyone. The coffee is excellent - Fish River Roasters. The drinks are at club prices. They even have a playroom for children - so everyone enjoys their meal!! On a nice day you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful golf course.
