Congdon's Doughnuts - Wells

Love, love, love! Coffee was fantastic, doughnuts were out of this world, and other breakfast items were all great (burrito, sandwich, bowl). We were even hoping to stop on our way back today from Bar Harbor again (a little out of the way), butunfortunately it was closed. Obsessed and would absolutely come back.

Oh, this place! They have managed to serve breakfast consistently, no matter what. Throughout Covid and now with staffing shortages, the changes they've implemented have been impressive! The line was long as usual, but their efficiency made it work. We opted for takeout, but this time we could choose to eat outside on their beautiful new patio or in the dining room without waitstaff. The breakfast bowls are a fantastic idea—large and delicious! They offer a wide variety of aromatic coffee options too! Thankfully, the donuts remain the same fluffy, delicious treats they've always been, reminiscent of Kanes in Massachusetts!

Friendliest staff....the most delicious doughnuts ever!! The bluerry powdered and the blueberry fritters are my FAVORITES!!!!

I hadn't visited this place in a couple of years, and I have to say, their donuts are the best I've ever had anywhere. It's definitely best to arrive early, as many options sell out quickly. They've changed their service model, and now you can only order at the counter and eat inside the restaurant. It's a shame because we used to love having breakfast there. It seems that a shortage of staff led to this decision. However, they do still operate their food trucks on the lot after 4:00 p.m.

I spent the weekend in Wells and visited this restaurant for the first time. I arrived right when they opened, and there was already a line of about 30 people—it was definitely a good sign! The line moved quickly, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Now, let's talk about the doughnuts... they're absolutely amazing—probably the best I've ever had! I can't wait to return; I'll definitely make a special trip from Massachusetts on a Sunday morning. My dog also adored his treat!
