Die Kleine Rosteria - Weiden i.d.OPf.

One of the best restaurants. we always like to go there. it is very tasty, always fresh vegetables, the steak is more than perfect!

Die Kleine Rosteria sounds pretty Italian, but is in reality more like a fusion kitchen with elements from Germany, Italy and European cuisine in general. Located in one of the small streets in Weiden, it looks a bit inconspicuous, but on an ordinary weekday the...place was pretty full, and it seemed to me that there were quite a number of repeat customers. Most likely it is advisable to book a table in advance, as it is a fairly small place (around 26 30 seats at the most as I recall). I chose the grilled lamb chops with grilled vegetables, as I like lamb very much, but too seldom makes it at home. I got a large (and hot) plate full of very succulent lamb chops together with a huge mound of freshly grilled vegetables. This was very well prepared indeed. Together with an Altbier this was a good finish on a very fruitful day. The only thing I would think needed an overhaul was the wine list this was too short and with types of wine (especially the red) which I normally would consider difficult in food pairing but as long as there's Altbier, I'll manage. Recommendable.

Family dinner outing in search of a great steak led us to this restaurant which was out of the way from the strip of other restaurants. No high chairs, probably because it's more of an adult type restaurant. Although, they did offer 3 choices on...a kid's menu! (Typical chicken nuggets and fries type). Beware that the kids menu numbers are the SAME as the numbers of the side dishes. Be sure to specify what you want. We ordered #50 which was chicken nuggets and when our food came out we were given baked potatoes (which also happens to be #50). They did however rush the kids' order and brought it to the table within five minutes. We ordered our steaks medium. They came out kind of rare (brown rare) in the middle. They graciously took the steaks back and cooked it a bit longer with smiles and apologies. We were a table of five and our Bill came up to €90. Overall it was worth it and we had a great dinner. Seating was outside and very limited; about 10 to 15 tables the most. Our steaks came out in about 25 minutes after ordering. The staff was excellent! English speaking and very friendly and helpful! Menu was in English also. (She said they had only 1 English menu).

Very satisfied with our dinner. excelent service and excellent eating. I will repeat that they reserve a table, it was even full on a Tuesday night.

Small restaurant in a side street. especially in winter absolutely reserve! in the summer there are more seats through the further external seating. we have been there several times and have experienced every time good service and very good eating. there are many combinations of steacards (come in the top level as ordered, top) and supplements. Moreover, changing dishes are offered which are not on the regular card. free of charge is served between the order and the food a greeting from the kitchen and after eating schnapps/Espresso. all in all a very round and tasty visit, recommended.
