Ohana *sushi*ramen*poke - Waxahachie

So sad to admit I’ve noticed an abysmal decline of quality in recent years, specially considering the prices have only increased, the steak Teriyaki might be the worst on the menu. The meat looks gray and is severely stale, even if you ask for medium rare or rare, not a single drop of blood will be found on the inside. The tempura has worsened considerably, for some reason they changed the recipe recently and it looks like they just dropped it on some flour. And the Plate presentation is most of the time untidy and unfinished. What a pity it used to offer great dishes a couple of years ago.

I really enjoyed the sushi and poke bowls here. I recommend splurging and getting the octopus-balls or fried squid. It's fun to eat and delicious. Hands down, this is the best sushi restaurant in Waxahachie. The atmosphere is nice and the service is excellent. While there I noticed they have a nice selection of Japanese whiskeys as well. The iwai black was excellent and priced where it should be. This place is family friendly and yet still quiet enough for a date. I would have given 5 stars but there are better sushi places in Dallas that I reserve that for.

I'm from out of town but we stopped in and had dinner one night. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, but I was not a fan of how packed together the table arrangements were. We ended up at a table right next to the host stand/front door. I might have just been feeling claustrophobic from being cramped 5 deep in a Mitsubishi but I would have liked more room between myself and the walls/tables around me. Definitely recommend this place and will dine there again whenever I'm back in town.
