Tower Grill - Waterbury

The blueberry pancakes lacked flavor, and the same went for the French toast. However, what really bothered me was the waitress’s behavior. From the moment we arrived, I sensed a negative energy from her. It felt like she was treating us differently than the other customers because we are Black. She hurriedly handed us the check without asking if we needed anything else. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and we won't be returning. I believe the owners would be disappointed to know that such behavior and subpar food are being served to patrons.

I came here July 14, yesterday. 10 am. potatoes salty, cold and greasy. They have to change that chef. I went here two months ago and it was excellent and everything was very fresh.

This beloved Waterbury institution serves delicious coffee that isn’t burnt or bitter, even when dressed up with milk and sugar. The domestic fries are light and fresh, avoiding that greasy or overcooked texture. My ham and American cheese omelet was perfectly light and fluffy, and the buttered seedless rye toast was excellent as well. My companions enjoyed the French toast with bacon and a pancake with sausage, both of which were delightful. The nostalgic atmosphere is palpable, with memories evoked by the decor on the walls behind the counter.
