Cactus Jam Mexican Restaurant

Enjoyed an excellent Mexican meal here, great flavours, friendly service and a huge list of margaritas to choose from.

Because otherwise the average reviewer has bad taste or never had Mexican. I do not usually need to write a bad review, let alone do I want to waste my time on it. Anyway, was in the mood for a quick simple bite, with a juicy burrito on my mind I arrived at Cactus Jam. When seated and glancing over the menu the bar was raised by the prices, premium Mexican I thought. Ordered the jalapeño chili which was presented poorly, they promised it to be hot but I did not counter many spicy parts. As the main I had the chicken chipotle. At first sight I was disappointed, the size did not meet up the hefty price the taste did neither, again the presentation wasn't good. This all annoyed me that much that I could not even be mad that my sparkling water (which was poured out of a 75 cents Aldi bottle) did not contain any sparkling. Shame, really hope that this was an actual off day of the kitchen. If not, step it up.

As regular visitors to Warrnambool, we always pay a visit to Cactus Jam. The food is always good (I love the fajitas), and so are the margueritas. Plenty to choose from including a kids menu and great desserts. Highly recommended!!

Was on a motorbike trip through Warrnambool and felt like something other than camping food. Had some grilled corn and an enchilada; good flavours, not the usual cheese and sour cream faux Mexican you get. Two dark Mexican ales and $50 later I was pretty happy. Would visit again.

We hadn't booked before we arrived as we were driving around town looking for somewhere interesting to eat. They were busy but they were able to accommodate us. However, once seated at our table it took 15-20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. It was almost as if our table was invisible to the waiters who walked past us, however, the waiter that finally took our order was lovely. We then waited an hour for our food while people who came in after us were being served their food before us. We all enjoyed our meals despite the service we received.
