My wife and I found this place through a friend that lived in the area. We decided to meet them half way rather than have them come up to Fairfax County. Our experience began with waiting in the reception area for 5-10 minutes with not a single person there to greet us. We finally had to go in to the dining area to find someone to seat us. That was my first clue that we were in big trouble. From there on, without going in to details, it had to be the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in many years. The service was terrible, the food was absolutely horrible (I ordered the Lamb Shank and it was cold when it arrived). We sat by a glass door that opened to the parking lot and 3-4 young guys opened it during our meal and just hung around for a minute. The waitress didn't write anything down and I asked her about it and she said she had everything down. She didn't. She forgot several things. Mostly, the food was terrible.
My dad and I used to go to Naps all the time when I was younger it was a great place very historical beautiful warm place. I moved out for college about two years ago and recently came back for Thanksgiving. We thought it would be nice to have an early dinner at Naps like old times. So first I called and made a reservation for 1:00 for 4 people, the man on the other line rudely picked up the phone and asked me to go to a website instead of taking down my name and info. So that was the first strike. My dad called the next day and a woman answered more politely and took down our info. So we thought we were in the clear...much to our surprise when we got there Thanksgiving day at our reservation time of 1:00 p.m. no one was there to greet us at the door. We had to walk into the dining area ourselves and was greeted by a tall gentlemen who said he couldn't find our reservation but either way he sat us downstairs. We thought it was going to be a buffet like last year we were told but instead we were handed menus and a choice of appetizer entree and dessert for 29.00 each. Ok no problem, apparently they have a new Chef whom we read about(due to not being seated for 10 min) who has worked under Gordon Ramsey..so we thought we were in for a treat. The Turkey was spongy and cold the dessert was melting and not cooked all the way. It was very disappointing. When we asked to have the turkey warmed up a bit it took 20 min just to get it back. The wait staff did not look happy to be there, they looked stressed and run down and that def came through when she waited on us. The service took forever the atmosphere was just rushed didn't feel warm and welcoming what so ever. As we were leaving we overheard one of the waiters ask if the hot water was working in the dish washer? That was all we had to hear to NEVER come back. It's said that this used to be such a wonderful place. They are trying to make it a more fine dining and they cant even focus on their customer service or food. It was horrible and I am so disappointed in the time and money my dad had to spend.
