D'amicos Licensed Italian - Wangaratta

D'Amicos is a lovely restaurant. I wouldn't call it fine dining, although the prices are sneaking up there a little, but the service was excellent, staff were very efficient and friendly, and the meals were certainly filling and tasty. It caters for a lot of take away pizza at the front door, so get past the rush and there is a very tastefully decorated, pleasant dining restaurant to enjoy inside. The seating booths are excellent for talking, as you can all sit together and see each other really well, and the lighting is lovely. Its a perfect venue for families, and we had 6 friends which fitted in very well and had a really great time with as well. Highly recommend the Cheese and Garlic Pizza starter.

The overall experience was just average, I'm afraid. The team was understaffed and the food was just okay, nothing special, unfortunately. The toilets were very clean but there was no hand soap (even 30 minutes after we mentioned it to the staff. I think it comes back to the fact they were understaffed). The Bolognese was below average too. Very simple and very basic. I am sure they're putting a lot of efforts, and it wasn't a bad experience, just not as good as it could be.

All round okay dinner. Food is okay. Pizza is also okay. The duck and porcini risotto could probably just be a mushroom risotto. The duck tasted like microwaved leftover chicken from 2 days ago. The entre/main prices with this in mind are pretty damn steep so id just stick to a pizza. Tiramisu was a bit flavourless also, very syrup like, not much coffee flavour, go for the donuts insteas. Nice atmosphere.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Our young waitress was divine, with a great personality, patience, and professionalism. She was well presented and efficient. This experience took place on Wednesday, March 30th.
