El Charro - Walnut Creek

This was my second time at the restaurant and the employees were great. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as there weren't many people in the building. The Tequila punch was delicious and the fajitas were good, although there wasn't much meat on mine. My daughter ordered the carnitas and received a lot more meat. The only two things I have to mention are that the seats had food on them, so it would be nice if someone could ensure that all tables and chairs are clean. Additionally, there were flies buzzing around which was a bit bothersome, but not a deal breaker. The restaurant is located next to a stream so flies are to be expected. Overall, I would consider coming back if I am in town again. I left feeling full and happy.

I believe the management should provide additional training for their servers. Our server did not ask if we wanted another round of drinks, and we had to remind him to remove our plates and bring the check after waiting a long time. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food either (except for their guacamole), as we found the dishes to be overly cheesy and salty. Perhaps we will have a better experience next time. We are a laid-back group, but we wanted to provide feedback so that you can improve. We have enjoyed Maria's and want to love this restaurant as well.

I was disappointed to discover that El Charro was located in Walnut Creek. Unfortunately, they were closed during the pandemic. As stated on their menu, this is not the same El Charro. The service was excellent, but the food was bland and lacked flavor. They only had 5 or 6 original items on the menu, so I ordered one of them while my companions ordered non-original items. We all agreed that the food tasted mediocre and the soda tasted like any ordinary soda. I would not recommend dining at El Charro. It is a shame that the restaurant is permanently closed.

Great service, really dishonest eating. I was curious about the attempt of the new el charros, but I would not return. this is definitiv American type Mexican food that I usually love, but here I found it very bland. it looked out and tasted generic, like Mexican foods that they could find in disneyland. the guacamole tasty load bought. the place is illuminated with strong purple and green lights that really killed any mood. the lighting made eating blue and the place feels cold. but the waiters were really attentive and friendly.

I had the birria tacos and the plate came out so hot I couldn't even grab them for 10 minutes. They were super soggy and salty. Very disappointed. Also don't expect to have a glass of wine here. They have two options red and white and both come out as cold as the beer. There are much better options in Walnut Creek. Go for a margarita on a hot day in the patio but go somewhere else to eat.
