After ignoring the place for years while passing by, and reading some reviews, I decided to try them on a Sunday morning at 7. Here are my impressions: The coffee 's not bad. It 's kind of nice to have a very early morning option open 6 am on weekends, and 5 am ! on weekdays , but if you don 't want to overload on sugar the pickings are slim. The apple fritter I had was pretty awful, so it went into the bin. The croissant, which I got as a second choice after, was nicely warmed up, but kind of mushy instead of flaky. Maybe I 'll try a bagel or English muffin next, as one final attempt of redemption, before I continue ignoring the place again.My overall impression is: as expected, cheap ingredients, cheap sugar glazing smothering the pastries, not delighted... While diabetes continues to be an epidemic! An appreciated touch was the pay-by-phone system not trying to shame me into adding a tip of some suggested 20% or so, as is usual at many other over-the-counter-service places. There is a tip jar where you can put in a bill or spare change if you feel like it...
