D Bar & Grill - Wallsend

The D bar has never disappointed my husband and I. We don't go here very often but as we just live up the road Diggers is always a easy option. D Bar has always had a great menu but at the moment their Grill options are tops! Something for everyone, great selection of meals. Would recommend booking on weekends as inside restaurant isn't overly large.

Dined here in February.The restaurant is located within Wallsend Diggers (RSL club). It is an 'a lar carte' type set up on the other side of the bistro. The venue is up market in style with 'wait to be seated' sign, more high end for a club.The food was ok. We shared the dumplings only six and they tasted ok. Our friends had the twice fried pork and this was a bigger serving and looked more appealing.For the mains I had the sampler plate. Was disappointed in the amount of meat that was for sampling. One sausage, one rib, small bit of brisket and an inch square of pork. Luckily the plate was loaded with chips that managed to fill me up.Others had crispy salt and pepper squid. He stated it was ok Another had the pasta and was very happy with the taste and the quantity of food. The final person had a burger. She stated it was ok. The prices in my opinion are high for the amount of food I got. I was a little disappointed. The meals did not all come out together which is a pet hate of mine. I would estimated the gap between the first meal arriving and the last at about 3 minutes.All the food was cooked exactly how it should have been which was great. Serve was good and the waitressed did there job fine.Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Would I visit again maybe, but I'd look elsewhere first.

Family dinner during my birthday week included a trip to the D-Bar for a pleasant surprise!We have dined at Diggers several times and it's pretty typical for a large club.Therefore weren't expecting too much from the D Bar. The menu was extensive, reasonably priced as are the drinks.Service was friendly and prompt. Everyone in our group (14 in total) were very happy with their meals, the lamb shoulder was a standout dish though! Thoroughly recommend.

Dishonest staff - my wife dropped her mobile phone out the front, clear CCTV footage of a female member of staff picking it up and placing it in her jacket pocket, tried to ring 10 minutes later and phone turned off never to be seen again. The staff member in question told police she 'handed the phone' in to reception but not there the next morning when we rang - so somebody here is a thief! Reported to management but CEO couldn't care less. Food ordinary and the rest of the staff treat you like they don't want you there so they can go home. New Mezz Bar smells like stale fat as well. Keep an eye on your wallet when you visit.

Great food, great service. The variety on the menu - we have seen changes to the menu every visit over the last 3 years of patronage and always find something delicious to order. The serves are generous and the food is fine dining quality. I appreciate the attention from the waitresses every time and often find it a wonderful location for a family celebration. The desserts are also delish ! Nice even to pop in just for a treat.
