Fratelli Roma - Maitland

Visited last week with a colleague. Excellent food and attentive, unpretentious service. The pistachio panna cotta was incredible. Pasta dishes highly recommended. Not the cheapest place in town, but excellent value for money. I look forward to dining here again in future!

Fortunately we had booked, because the restaurant was full by 6.30 pm. But the atmosphere was great, and service never faltered, with waiters appearing at just the right moments. We shared zucchini flowers to start - a perfect opener. Then the house-made spaghetti with Spanner crab was just excellent, and the agnello in filo pastry was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Wine list included a modest (but well-suited) by-the-glass choice, and a comprehensive bottle list. For dessert, the lemon tart was just sensational; the tiramisu perhaps a little too large: I didn't have to finish it but couldn't resist it. Espressos finished off a lovely meal, which wasn't cheap but was certainly excellent value. A really great Hunter restaurant.

Fantastic food here! Great list of wines both local and imported. It was comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious (we are self confessed foodies) but not pretentious. For those that care about portion size, it was good sized serves. Definitely earns its reputation.

This restaurant came highly recommended via Trip Advisor and the hotel we stayed at. Gorgeous decor, ambient lighting and lovely menu. But the heating was turned up so high it literally sucked any energy I had for eating and drinking right out of me. So all we ended up doing was sharing entrees and a salad and guzzling mineral water. Surprised that for a 7.30pm reservations that 2 of the specials had already run out.Took a very long time between being asked if we wanted dessert (declined) and having to ask for the bill.

Absolutely amazing dinner and service, can't believe we waited so long to try this restaurant. We will now be frequenting this restaurant often.
