Grandma's Diner - Wake Forest

Both this restaurant and we’re founded in Charles town, West Virginia and then moved to Raleigh/Wake Forest. It’s so great to see a West Virginia restaurant branch out and spread the homely and welcoming behavior that is expected from West Virginia. Our waiter Jack, was awesome. The food was great. All I wish is a little more WV decor (possibly “races and slots” decor) to remind me of home. Thank you all and I will definitely be returning here.

Good honest food with a main focus on breakfast. It's not a big fancy chain , it hasn't spent all it's money on decor and advertising , it is exactly as you would expect , comfy , easy , tasty. At some point I will venture out of my comfort zone which is the grandad's big breakfast as I've sampled a lot of the others but it's hard to say no when it hits the spot. Prices are reasonable , parking is easy , well worth a trip.

We visited Grandma's twice a few years ago and weren’t inclined to return. The breakfast consisted of just a few eggs on a plate with bacon, which didn't leave a great impression. However, we decided to give it another chance on Mother's Day, and we were pleasantly surprised. The standout for us was Samantha. She was incredibly upbeat, greeting everyone warmly with a genuine smile. Our waiter, Nick, was also friendly, and the entire staff seemed eager to make our experience enjoyable. Samantha was particularly attentive; I would have considered hiring her if I still owned my business—she's truly a gem. My only critique is that the hash browns could be improved, and the prices are somewhat high. Overall, it was a good experience. Perhaps a loyalty program for regular customers could help lower prices.

The food was amazing! I ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich, while my wife enjoyed the French toast. We will definitely return!

I’ve lived in Wake Forest for two years and had no idea this hidden gem was here. Skip the lines at other restaurants and head straight to this one—you won’t regret it. They offer generous portions, a fantastic menu selection, and just really delicious food. This place has quickly become one of my new favorites. Don’t make the same mistake I did!
