Muriwai Lodge - Waitakere

Expensive but very nice milkshakes kai. Parking is dicey on the main road there, don't let the kids out first. Staff are pretty nice which is good. Been going here (although it's probably changed owners some) for pretty much forever, it's been around a long time, I remember this place when I was a kid. Much better option than the cafe down the road. Be careful backing out of the parking, plenty of Westie hoons ready to take you out or run your family over. Cheers.

What a beautiful place to stay! It felt incredibly homely and comfortable. I have a deep appreciation for locations that showcase great style and art, and this place is filled with both! Clare was a wonderful and generous host. We stayed here during a challenging and emotional period in our lives; my mother had recently passed away, and we were in the process of selling our home to move back to Auckland. Being in Muriwai made a significant difference; there's no better way to unwind than taking long walks along its expansive, rugged coastline. Thank you so much, Clare!

My family absolutely loved it! The lodge was so cozy, with spacious bedrooms, and the view was breathtaking. We enjoyed delicious food from the deli right out front.

I had a wonderful stay here. This place has been around for some time and has undergone a tasteful renovation. It features a modern TV and Wi-Fi. While the kitchen is small, it is equipped with a full-size fridge, microwave, oven, cooktop, kettle, and a Nespresso coffee machine. There’s also a laundry area with a washer and dryer. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place, lovely staff. Had coffee and a bacon burger...both just how I like them, nice beef patty and lots of tasty bacon. I am impressed. These guys are also open longer on the weekend than the other cafe thats closer to the beach;
