Great place that is definitely worth stopping in for food, especially if you have a big appetite. I had the mixed grill and it did not disappoint. Friendly staff, great service and cozy booths. Hard to find places like this that still give great food at decent serving sizes with nice staff.

Have known flora, franco, roberto and emilio for years and to this day they serve one of the best italian cuisine in the north island. They are so friendly and passionate about there restaurant that the quality of service and food is exceptional. we now reside in wellington but always make a special visit to this lovely restaurant when we travel up north. Pasta lovers you must try there fetuccine its to die for and for the pizza lovers you will not find better pizza anywhere than cafe express! so if anyone reads this review and happens to go through waiouru do yourselves a favour and stop in you wont regret it!!!!

What a **** hidden gem. Always travelling from Auckland to foxton and only just tried this place. On my god for a small town cafe restaurant this place is good. Take your expectations of what a cafe in a rural town and ten fold that to this one. Pizza comes out all melting like goddddam!

Awesome home vibe great food and the staff customer service made my experience that much better while watching rugby regular stop for us when co.ing through waiouru.
