The Mess Tent Cafe National Army Museum

Actually surprisingly good! Would probably give 4.5 for overall score, if I could. The food was reasonably priced and tasted pretty good. It also came out pretty quickly. The service was also very friendly. The only criticism was the salsa for the wedges was very tangy. The kids loved the pancakes and the wife loved the chicken burger. I got a coffee and that was pretty good also. These guys could teach BK and KFC a thing or two about customer service.

I would say 4.5 stars as the coffee was ok. The food however from what we ordered was generous for the price and tasty. The children fish and chips was crispy and pretty on point. It was the weekend so the fish was fresh enough. The mac and cheese was exceptional. Yes there was mac and I was expecting a white sauce with a smattering of cheese. Instead the cheese sauce was rich, tasty amd stringy. The bacon was enough to add the saltiness. My only opinion that could have elevated it would be caramelized onions. Staff were friendly and helpful even when busy. Wheelchair accessible and the museum is worth checking out.

Had a Lunch after our visit to the Museum, as it’s in the same building. Very friendly staff and great service. The food was delicious and the prices are good too. If you’re Gluten-free rather ask, as I couldn’t eat their fries. Really enjoyed my minced potato. Definitely worth a visit if you’re hungry or thirsty. Their coffee was delicious too. Cheers

Great place to eat ! We are staying behind the national army museum and for dinner had for two adults. We had the beef burger and chips and the kids fish and chips so nice and so generous the doggy got a treat. Really Nice place and lovely staff !!! Will be back for sure
