Kauai Family Cafe - Wailua

We tried the Tortang Talong (Eggplant Omelet), which included peppers, onions, and green onions. It had a great flavor, but I wished there was less eggplant skin. I ordered it with white rice, but after reading some reviews, I realized I should have picked the fried garlic rice instead. We also had the breakfast combination (the first item on the menu), and it was absolutely delicious! The pancake or waffle served alongside the French toast was fantastic. At just $9 and $14, with coffee for only $2, it’s a great deal! Highly recommended!

This quaint little restaurant offers the perfect portion sizes at a very reasonable price. On the morning of our visit, the cook was absent, but the woman who I believe was the owner took our order and prepared our meals in under 10 minutes. The omelet was delicious, and the seasonal fruit was a delightful addition. I also tried the “Tortang Talong,” which is a Filipino eggplant omelet made with grilled eggplants blended into a beaten egg mixture and then cooked. It's a simple yet flavorful dish that's great for lunch or dinner. Overall, my first meal in this beautiful state was definitely a winner!

Great breakfast! I highly recommend the Spanish sausage and garlic rice. The hash browns and iced coffee were also enjoyable. The pancakes were somewhat simple, but overall, it's an excellent value for breakfast in Kauai. If you're looking to save money on food, this is definitely the place to go. I would definitely visit again!

What a beautiful place! The staff recognized all regulars and came out to say hello! We have a few delicious and plentiful plates for breakfast... it was a great treat – the coconut syrup on your pancake!

Sooo good! Choice of spam, bacon or Portuguese sausage, I chose spam. Waffle was delicious with their coconut syrup. Fruit was so fresh and sweet. The staff is the friendliest too! Definitely returning on my next trip to Kauai.
