The Livet - Victoria

Experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, the service is top-notch, and the presentation of the dishes is stunning. Overall, a fantastic restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

I visited Livet tonight after having a great experience last time I was there.

The Livet is a restaurant that I absolutely adore because of its exceptional service, delicious food, and great ambiance. It has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots.

We tried the Livet recently, and I was expecting to love it since stage wine bar is one of our favorite dinner spots. We started with both the bread and oil and the fried squash bread. The bread and oil was good (hard to screw up that dish) the fried squash bread was OK, the sauce it came with was awesome, but the bread itself had no squash flavor and was quite dry. We then got the octopus salad, which was perfectly fine, but I have had much better. The last to come was the lamb, which was overcooked and flavorless but left an odd soapy after taste in my mouth. The lamb also came with a beet risotto, which had zero flavors. Overall I left feeling quite sick, and I could not finish my lamb. The décor of the restaurant is beautiful and is probably one of the best looking places to eat in Victoria. The service was interesting; they don’t seem to assign you a server as we had multiple people come by. We had mostly one server, but we gave our drink orders to another girl and was quality checked by another. Our main server was very sweet, but she forgot to ring in our lamb which we got about 20 min after our second course. She came by twice in that time to ask US if our food was on the way which I realized was because she forgot to ring it in, so we had to give her the order again. Overall the service seems confusing, and the food was bland and uninspired. Hopefully they can pick it up, but for now, I would just go to Stage.

This is a relatively new and very funky place for small plates of delicous flavours and combinations with friendly staff and amazing cocktails. The patio is amazing on a summer day too. Great music
