Tea At The Empress - Victoria

We went to dinner during the holidays in restaurant q. they served a prix fixe menu and we let them know well in advance that we were both vegan and they said no problem, but we were not given a choice of meal. the courses ended with (1) tasteless Petersnip soup, (2) undercooked roasted carrot panes, (3) hard, thick plates of celeriac, the inedible, (4) sorbet, and (5) sorbet again. we were quite shocked by everything about the meal. I expected small portions that emphasized the presentation, but I thought that eating would be more inspired than roasted vegetables, which were still hard followed by two cures of sorbet. it was even more shocking to get the bill and see that we were charged 195$ per, the price of the omni menu, the expensive animal products, for the vegan version that consisted of about 4$ worth vegetables.

Had a great time. pretty expensive, but I felt like a chic vegan. not sure if I would do it again, but definitiw once in a life experience.

Nicely decorated, friendly professional servers. Quite noisy for everyone with a hearing disability to turn around with the rest of the party. Food and tea were excellent.
