Finally I found a woman who started at me, I asked her if they are open, she said yes go find a seat. She made a big deal that I was there by myself so did the owner. I had to ask for a menu. When I didn't see the lunch menu I asked for that. There was none, he asked what I wanted I said I didn't remember what was on ye sign. He quickly told me the list. I couldn't understand him and he loudly barked at over and over about dishes without explaining. (I have allergies) Eventually when I couldn't get a straight answer on what dishes were what, and I could see he was getting angrier and angrier as his voice kept raising and he talked down to me -- I left. It was too hostile of an environment to have a quiet lunch. I went to the noodle cart around the block where I was met with prompt, fantastic service.
This is a great place to visit if you'd like to try something different for lunch. They have a well stocked lunch buffet and bring you freshly prepared nan bread and a jug if water - which you will need as the food is deliciously spicy! Worth a visit.
You can't trust everything you read on Tripadvisor! While we visit Indian restaurants everywhere we go we rarely choose the buffet because the entrees are too mildly spiced for my taste. But we popped in here one evening and decided to try the buffet. A pleasant surprise. It was very good, well spiced and flavoured and we both enjoyed almost everything we found there. We were was just about to order a side of Naan when a full basket appeared on the table, right out of the oven. Delicious. We'll visit again.
Hey, it must have been good as I certainly overate and as i type I feel my stomach totally full and no room for anything else. They listed over 22 items on the buffet but that could only be if they included salt, pepper and the cutlery. Having said that, there were about 8 dishes that were done very well. Veggie samosas, pekoras, a lamb curry, daal, tandoori fish, a kind of KFC chicken done Indan style, butter chicken, rice. The buffet rang in at $18 and was well worth it. As we began the meal we received a hefty plate of naan bread as well. The service was ok, I think our server was relatively new as she didn't know the menu items and didn't offer to refill our water jug, or bring fresh napkins etc. Had she been a wee bit more enterprising I could have felt a bit more initiative with the tip. All in all service was fair.
****Terrible service , food & extremely rude owner****We went around 1:45 pm for the lunch buffet . Our experience was really bad .Food was NOT fresh , couple of the dishes were over and owner refused to refill those dishes.what i didnt liked about this restaurant :(A) owner was sweeping the floor while we were eating the food. (B) food was not fresh. (C) some of the items on the buffet were over and we told the owner to fill in , but owner refused to do so , saying buffet is over when it was only 2:00 PM ( the poster says "all day buffet" ) . We confirmed with owner before taking the buffet. (D) owner refused to get the empty bowl for gravy items (E) owner used abusive language. how can the taste stays good if the restaurant is so harsh and abusive to customers.
