Our friends were locals and for a decade we regularly dined at Vecchio Pino and loved it. The Tagliata was excellent as was the Spaghetti al ragu. A fun atmosphere, GREAT pizza we are from Brooklyn, NY so we know good pizza! The owner's daughter waited on us gracefully she is a former ballet dancer!
We went to the restaurant by chance, since the other one we searched for did not exist... And we were very positively surprised. Sitting next to a former Juventus Turin legend, we enjoyed a great meal (literally great we both tried hard to finish it) and a great local beer!
Four member family for an early dinner. Food was ok ish and service likewise. If you don't mind the trains thundering by every few minutes and the waitress' brusque and direct ways, then I guess you're ok here. However for us it was nothing in particular would probably not go back.
We had two meals at Osteria del Vecchio Pino while we were staying in Migliarino, the first was fantastic with some of the best pizza we've eaten and lovely friendly service. The night after we had a couple of very mediocre pasta dishes (we could've cooked better at home in England) and a small plate of cheese for 10 euros, with some very grouchy service from the waitress. Basically if you get lucky with the service, you won't get a much better pizza for the money in Pisa but steer clear of the bland pasta dishes.
