The Landing Grill - Valrico

This is a wonderful restaurant with amazing food. They have live entertainment and host daily events, activities, and specials. As for a missing star, it's primarily due to the cocktails being on the pricier side. The food is reasonably priced, reflecting the quality you receive, but I don't intend to order cocktails there again. I recommend checking the prices before you order. The beer, on the other hand, was ice cold and very reasonably priced.

I believe that the time of day and whether it's a weekend or holiday significantly impacts your experience at this restaurant. Today, it wasn't too crowded, and the outdoor seating area was quite peaceful, with the fan providing a nice cooling breeze. Our server was friendly and attentive. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, and everyone in my party of four loved their meals. The fries were incredibly fresh and served in generous portions, and the Impossible burger was the best I’ve had at a restaurant so far.

From all the positive things I have heard about this place I was excited to check it out. So to start I had the wings because the waitress said they were known for them. Low and behold they were fantastic and cooked to perfect with right amount of sauce. The big fish plate was average. The shrimp I upgraded to were super salty (they were blackened) and the fish was super soggy from the breading and oil. The mac salad and cole slaw was average at best that came with it. I would go back to this place for the wings but wouldn’t get the fish platter again.

While the appetizers were fantastic, our main dishes left much to be desired. My burger was extremely dry, and the onion rings I ordered as an extra were overcooked. My husband opted for the July 4 chicken special, which was also far too dry for him to enjoy. The iced tea was weak, and the lemonade didn’t taste like lemonade at all, so I had to switch to soda. When we raised our concerns with the waitress, her only response was, “I’m so sorry,” without even offering to replace our drinks or suggest alternatives. After expressing our dissatisfaction and deciding not to return, she repeated her apology, which felt insincere. She didn’t even offer to swap out the poorly made tea! This experience has led me to remove The Landing from my list of recommended restaurants. For reference, our bill totaled $48! I could have gone to Jesses in Brandon and enjoyed a much better meal for the same price!

I had my first visit to this restaurant and it was fantastic. My server, Lauren, was incredibly friendly, engaging, and attentive. I also loved that they allow you to bring your dog along. The nachos were delicious, and the happy hour offers were quite impressive. I will definitely return with my pup! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
