When we inquired about adjusting the air conditioning, we were informed that only the owner could make that change, and they weren't present. Additionally, the bartender was impolite. I wasn't the only one to notice; several of my classmates also commented on their experience after ordering drinks. We had called a few days prior to discuss our gathering in hopes of having two bartenders, but it seems our request was overlooked.
Excellent beer and a wonderful atmosphere overall. This type of venue is quite rare in Utica, and I mean that as a sincere compliment. The next time you're in town, make sure to include this place in your itinerary—it’s a must-visit!
We went to Utica to pick up our granddaughter and decided to check out a local microbrewery we discovered. What a charming spot! We shared a flight of beers; my husband particularly loved the pilsner, while I found the Russian imperial stout to be excellent. The menu is somewhat limited, but their unique take on German cuisine was both interesting and delicious. We tried the roasted Brussels sprouts and the schnitzel sliders, alongside a side of German potato salad. We had no complaints whatsoever! The bartender was not only cute but also friendly and very attentive.
Very disappointing; beautiful location but after ordering a sampler of 4 beers, we couldn't even finish the samples and were not interested in ordering anything else. The food was extremely greasy and the service, even with only 3 tables, was somehow even worse than the food and the beer. Lots of potential but based on our experience would not recommend this place to anyone else.
The brewery is across from the art deco Adirondack train station. A micro brewery in a beautiful lofty industrial like warehouse with a German inspired menu. Bagg was named after Moses Bagg a blacksmith in Utica with great historic ties. This places is so spacious with a great variety of flavorful craft beers. We really wanted to love the food as much as the beer but it lacked a bit.Bavarian Pretzel paired with a delicious bacon jam. Pretzel was missing the Millard flavor; deep brown/golden shiny crisp crust, but the inside was soft and pillowy.Cheese curds was served on an iron skillet with crispy chunks of cheese. The Thai chili sauce had a nice kick.Brussels Sprouts tossed with crispy bacon golden raisins. Not your typical crispy sprouts but the flavors were nice with a mixture of sweet and savory bites.
