The Wine Box - Upper Harbour

I love this place. Old school and true to the original character of Albany. Good, honest food and good wine. Her signature dish of the chicken liver was delicious and the waitress was beautiful.

This meal was excellent. We had the lambskin with garlic green beans and potato gratin and slowly brazed beef cakes with Celeriac puree and roast carrots. Everything was cooked and perfectly seasoned. Service was great. A really beautiful ambience with a real fire and to it from a great selection of wines and amazing value. We rarely give reviews, but that was so great that it was worthy. Very recommended!

What a great meal. The best Lemon Pepper Squid ever! The food and the benefits were fantastic and the portion sizes were just right. Roast Lamb Braised Beef Cheeks and finished with the Ginger poached pears. Great meal and cheap. Will definitely be back!!!

We were very impressed by this beautiful place. We had not booked and were a group of six, but they welcomed us in and we had a fabulous meal. The lady who served us was hospitable and had a good knowledge of the menu and all the questions we had. Will be back in Auckland.

The steaks are really good, the mushrooms sauce was FANTASTIC, a little bit disappointed that they didn't have any of the two entrees that we wanted to try, also the wine list could be a little be more extensive.
