Przekaż informację zwrotnąRogan Josh is an unbelievable restaurant in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, which is a wonderful food experience. In 2015 I visited the restaurant for the first time and in part of my review then I wrote your host, Sandy Gujiral, is the wife of the “master” chef, Ranjeet Gujiral. What a brilliant combination they do. Because while Ranjeet creates an Indian repast that will delight you, Sandy and her staff will make you incredibly welcome. Well seven years is a long time in the life of a restaurant and many go under in a shorter time. During this time, like all restaurants, Rogan Josh suffered greatly from multiple COVID lockdowns. In May 2021 the restaurant was completely destroyed by fire. The kitchen, the storage rooms and the main restaurant were completely burned out. Despite the many challenges, Rogan Josh reopened a few months ago, so I thought it would be a good time to go back and check it yourself. My wife, son and partner were greeted like old friends of Sandy and we certainly didn't just feel welcome, we felt at home. But the house has not changed! I guess if there is a silver lining to a catastrophe as it is burnt down, that means that there is a clean slate on which you start again. The new Rogan Josh is not only as comfortable as the old, but the decor and the layout has now gone one step up, from very good to excellent. Although the ambience and the surroundings are important for a good culinary experience, it is the food that makes or breaks this experience. Rogan Josh is specialized in North Indian and Tandoori Cuisine. The various dishes are evaluated in the temperature with 1 to 3 chili, but the cook is individual needs that are for less or more heat in the various curries on request. One of the most important parts of the cook Ranjeet Gujiral's cooking philosophy is that when it comes to the hotness of a curry, this heat must mix with the taste and not kill. Taste is king in this restaurant. The four of us had a variety of dishes, with the ducks of Onion Bhaji 's and vegetables Samosa 's. The four Samosa's were extremely charming and a whole range of flavors ozed by them. We had eight Bhajis between us, and the reflection that was too many as the main courses were generous proportions. The Bhaji 's were good, but I have to say the Samosa 's were really excellent. The silence during the meal was witness to the joy of eating meals accompanied by Garlic Naan (the best everywhere), Raita and a speciality of the Daal Makhani cook [Lentils cooked overnight on a slow fire with herbs and spices. . I chose the Prawn Vindaloo [3 chili, which is cooked with vinegar, chili and seasoned gravy and mixed with boiled potatoes. The heat was perfect. Enough to remind you that you are alive, but not so hot that you have gassed for the air, and not so hot that the mouthwater flavors have been killed. The shrimps were cooked to perfection and melted absolutely in the mouth. There is a decent drink list of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, but you can also bring your own wine when you decide. Regarding nutritional requirements, all Curries Gluten Free, there is a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes available to ensure that those with diet requirements relax and enjoy the fabulous food. A complete menu can be read on its website. The restaurant is able to provide functions, with a functional room that provides up to 40 people, and you can keep this special event with them, whether it's a birthday, anniversary, engagement or business event. It also makes Takeaway. Finally, not only is everything I have in my original review of the 31st October 2015, the new interior now adds a more wonderful experience to what needs to be, one of the best Indian restaurants in Victoria. The sad thing is how many restaurants they make it hard. Whether people are still talking about COVID or the financial "clamping down is deep, the fact is Sandy reports that the patronage is compared to before COVID. Make yourself a favor, visit the Rogan Josh to eat for the full experience, or to take away. In any case, you will not be disappointed. Supports small businesses, they are the life blood of communities.
Had Takeaway from Indian Rogan Josh and it was excellent. They are very busy and that gives an indication of how good they are.
Our family had dinner in this restaurant yesterday and I must say that is a place I could recommend to anyone looking for delicious Indian food. The staff was friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Food is amazingly delicious and authentic. I would highly recommend!
My family lived in Ferny Gully in early January. Designed on Rogan Josh as the premise was very clean and a friendly welcome. The decor and ambience was excellent as the service was. The males were obviously regular and you could... why!....the food was so authentic and all round super service. Our girls really enjoyed this place and we highly recommend it.
The food here is amazing. Authentic, quality, delicious! Lovely staff and service, great prices. Our favourite Indian restaurant and a real gem for the area.
