Would like to have a little more variety of seafood and possibly a little Cajun spice to the shrimps. BUT, service was excellent, staff was friendly and attentive. He was there at 5:30 and this place got at 6:00-6:20 hoppin, but the food was plentiful and the staff stayed with everyone. For $20, you can't beat it. Will be back
Great place to stop when you are on the lake and need to find a bite to eat. Food was fresh, service was attentive, and drinks were great. Not only were drinks delicious, the menu has many options, also for pickers guests who contain sandwiches, baskets and burgers. The location is the best and the environment felt open and friendly. I'll be all over again when I'm on the lake!
The band of our friend played in this place, it was our first time to visit. It was very crowded, an older man at the entrance told us to sit wherever we could find a place, some nice people saw us looking for a table, saying they wanted us to have theirs. Once sitting, I was addressed by a waiter who said we jumped the line, but we were told to go further, there was no line just people standing around and a sign that said please sit down. I tried to explain to the older man who told us to find a seat instead of listening to him getting rude and going. We were at night, had dinners and drinks, listen to the band. The older man was the owner, I let him know we had a great evening and hoped to come back!
TLDR: Food was great, service was fast and friendly, prices could be lower, but still reasonable. I would recommend it. I'd come back if I lived in the area or would go back this way. We had not expected much, but we were lost in the woods for the last 2 or 3 hours after a previous walk, which included some climbing. We were hungry. We were immediately greeted and said we could sit somewhere. There were maybe 4 tables inside, but they were all available. Most people prefer to sit outdoors. The waitress was friendly as they made recommendations and offered samples of frozen drinks. I have the seafood combo with Rooster rice (picture) and roasted Okra as my pages. I asked my fish to be grilled instead of being roasted. I also ordered a bowl of rubber and the Dickel drop frozen drink. My brother had the fish Tacos and Gumbo. We were both blown away from the flavors. The rooster could have been my favorite dinner there, but the shrimps were well seasoned, and the fish was cooked for perfection! The roasted Okra was hot, slightly broken, not Gooey, but also not boiled. I didn't have room for the rubber bear, so I couldn't tell you anymore, except that it had shrimp, pieces of another meat, sausage maybe, and my brother was very impressed by him. We couldn't stop laughing the name of my drink from George Dickels Tennessee Whiskey and Sun Drop soda. Thick drop. If you drink a lot... The prices were a bit high, but what you would expect. 12 Ounce Gumbo was $8.00, My seafood combo with a crab cake, 2 pieces fish, 2 hush puppies (small and sweet like the waitress), maybe 8 shrimps (not counted), and 2 pages were $21.00, and my Dickel drop was $10.00. I would recommend this restaurant. I'd like to eat there again.
We sat in the outdoor seating area, the location reminds of a beach location, although it is located on the lake. We ordered hush puppies followed by the fishing plate, this includes 12 shrimps, several catfish fillets and a crab cake. The shrimps were fresh and well cooked, the catfish was also good and the crab cake was tasteful, but a little gooey. We will return. Prices were average for seafood.
