Last week we tried to eat at Spinelli and we were turned away. I had family to visit from the city, so we wanted to try something new and local. When we entered, we saw a sign at the door that said no more than 6 people per table and we had 7 people in our party (4 adults, 2 children and a baby). We have decided to break our group so we can still try. So we wanted to take two tables. That would mean 5 people on a table and 2 on the other. When we go in, we're met by a waitress who tells us we can't eat there. I look around the restaurant, there is no other restaurant than the staff, so there is no lack of tables. She tells us there are only 6 per group allowed that her boss would not allow us to eat there. I'm not saying that your shield table says so that we split the group into two tables. She continues to argue with me and doesn't let us eat there. I understand the concerns with COVID-19 pandemic and that they try to ensure that their employees and customers remain safe, but they lost business at night as well as my business in the future. If the sign 6 had said per group, I would have understood, but it said 6 per table. I hate that I had such a bad experience with a local business because my family and I try to support as much as possible locally. I hope no one else has such a bad experience as we do.
Great family friendly place! The food is great quality and always made to order. The slices are huge and the pizza are just as big. Definitely coming back.
Very friendly, clean, definitely recommend!! Stays open until 5am!!
I am leaving a five star because I love the food and I wouldn’t feel right leaving anything less. hopefully the business owner will read this.I placed an order to go, showed up 40 minutes later and it was ready. I was told that the credit card machine just went down. (I own a business in Shelbyville I understand things happen). The employee asked if I had cash. My bill was $21. I only had $13 I suggested cutting the Stromboli in half and selling me a half portion for $13 and was “told I can’t do that.” he suggested that he was just going to throw it away. He also suggested finding an ATM next-door, to my fault I don’t have my pin saved because I never use an ATM like ever. Ive got to say I was very surprised by this. Rather than salvaging the sale and keeping a customer happy they opted for throwing out high-quality food. sell me half of it for over half the price keep the other half for a midnight snack or give it to a drunk next door or give it to some kid. I don’t care what you do with it obviously… not good Peter.
