Fortunately, my good friends are members so we come a few times for lunch and après ski, and it was really wonderful. You have a beautiful indoor and outdoor area. We sat on the sunny terrace overlooking the mountain. They were somewhat understated, but service was super friendly and helpful. We had some **** Mary's made with love, I had a chopped salad w/ a perfectly boiled chicken breast that was delicious, and my friend had the Thai chicken sandwich she said was wonderful, with fries that were really exceptionally super crispy. The next day came back for nachos and cocktails that were also great. If you can come, highly recommended.
The Alpine Club was a last minute after party location for our wedding and it was not disappointed! We got married at Zephyr Lodge near Northstar and our original location has closed a few months before our wedding. Our contact arranged 2 locations, of which we could choose, would honor our pre-contract, and the Alpenclub was the clear choice (I don't know how their normal costs are). It was easy for our guests, after riding the gondola on the opposite side of the village, the room was large with a fireplace and plenty of seat for small groups to collect, sit and relax. The drinks were good, we decided that guests would buy their own drinks, and the bartenders were friendly and low keys. We chose Queensadillas as a snack because it is my men's favorite, and they let us replace the steak for chicken as Steak was the dinner. Everyone shaved that they are the perfect afterparty food - easy to eat and meet the place! Thanks Dana and the Alpenverein!
As a member, however, there were very rude employees. Customer service was terrible....at least to say, especially for what they want to calculate you.
The Alpine Club is part of the Tahoe Mountain Club and is only open to members and their guests. We are lucky enough to have friends who are members, which allows us to join them here, at Alpine Club, in the Village, as well as Schaffers Camp up the Zephyr Express. This is a great place to rest after a day of skiing/boarding. They have a game room for the kids, which usually has a movie playing for them. While a little slow, the servers are always very patient and polite. They have wifi as well, so it's a great place to get some work done as well. I spent a couple of hours in here working while the rest of the crew skied. It's nice to have a place right in the village which is more casual than the reservation only Schaffer Camp. I do wish they had the slippers though...it sure would be nice to be able to pull the feet out of the boots for a bit. All in all, a great place in the Village with yummy enough food, and even yummier drinks. :
Terrific club that stores skis etc. plus good bar and breakfast/lunch spot for members plus other perks.
