Amazing food! The meals are huge and really good price you definitely get your money's worth. Beautiful beer garden with fairy lights and lively little fountains. Inside pub is full of history and the locals are a laugh with lots of stories to tell. Staff are lovely and helpful huge range of beer wine and spirits. The gourmet cellar next door is a must visit while your there lots of goodies it's like Charlie and the chocolate factory but wine beer and deserts.
Food was lovely. . Tasted great But the one issue was that it was cold. Servers were nice and enthusiastic which is a change to what i have seen elsewhere
This was our 5th visit to the Vic and the food represents good money for value and is a high standard for a Hotel. Neville, the head chef is well qualified and trained and certainly lifted the standard of food on offer. Of the 6 adults ,all were more than happy will their meals which were the Peking Duct- Seafood-Reef & Beef-Steak, all cooked a requested.Service was good, efficient and friendly.
I posted this review on their Facebook page and I feel that this review is also warranted on TripAdvisor...I ate there tonight and paid a sizable amount for a steak that was below non-eventful. Wouldn't rate it at all.I ate one mouthful, which was cooked well-well-well done (like no steak ever should be). I was a bit annoyed because I ordered it to be cooked med-rare and there was one small piece that was light pink in the fatty bit at the end. I was super hungry, so I ate some of the chips and the undressed salad. I left the rest of the steak cut up on the plate, mainly so that the waitress could see that a lot of my meal had been left. Not even one word was asked about what sat on my plate.I work in hospitality and was shocked to see that 90% of my meal was on the plate and nothing was said! The Victoria Park Hotel was recommended to us by a couple of friends, but what a total waste of money! I could have gone elsewhere and paid $12.95 for a more flavoursome steak with a sauce that tasted a little less like paste. Will not be speaking highly of this joint in the future.
