Had a meal here the other week and couldn't fault the service or the food. Will definitely be returning
The staff were very friendly and helpful so that was a good start to our dinner. Next we seen the menu. There was like 4 things to choose from and they were hell expensive. $18 for 2 potato skins with bacon and cheese. $35 for a little piece of sirloin with a scoop of mash and basket of chips. There special was lamb shanks so that’s what the partner had. That was $29. She got 2 shanks and some mash and ‘brocollini’ by brocolinni I mean 1 tiny piece. I asked for my steak well done. It was served bleeding. On the plus side when I told the waitress she took it back to the chef and on second try it was cooked right. The food tasted good but way to expensive for us for the small amount we got.
We were a group of 12 , and everyone enjoyed their meals. I shared the pita with dip as a starter. The pitas crisp and light served with 3 dips: the pesto was delightful and complimented the caramelised onions beautifully. My mains the pork belly, was perfect. The meat was flavoursome and not overly fatty with perfect crackling. It was accompanied by the subtle cauliflower purée and jus that is to die for. But better than the food was the service: when dining out as part of a bigger group, one can expect some difficulties. On this occasion I was the difficult customer and our delightful server, Daniel, was a pleasure throughout. Despite my difficult request, he remained polite, respectful, maintained a great sense of humour and in general was just the most professional waiter/host I’ve ever encountered. Well done, Daniel, you are a great asset to the business. Thank you for a great meal and a very pleasant evening.
I thought that a hotel in the middle of cattle country would have amazing local steaks apparently the ones here come from a central distributor for the hotel chain. They have really great bacon for breakfast but the steak was sadly more like gravy beef.
