Capitol Regent - Townsville

We arrived at the restaurant around 6:30pm to find it nearly empty. After being seated, we ordered our meals. I started with a sweet corn and chicken soup, which arrived in about 5 minutes. It was tasty, but a bit too salty for my liking. After my plate was cleared, we waited 40 minutes before asking our server about our food. She assured us it was on its way. When our meals finally arrived, 45 minutes after ordering, we were served curried king prawns and vegetables as well as mixed seafood with vegetables. Unfortunately, both dishes were excessively salty. Despite this, the food was still edible. I might consider returning to this restaurant if I happen to be in the area again, but the long wait time was a major drawback. If the restaurant were busier, I would likely choose to dine elsewhere, especially if I had plans afterward.

I can't get enough of the authentic Cantonese Chinese cuisine at this restaurant. I have never been disappointed and I appreciate that it's not trying to be perfect, just a great culinary experience!

Finally, after 45 minutes from ordering, our dishes arrived - king prawns and a seafood medley. Both dishes were so salty that they were barely edible. I may consider returning in the future, but the long wait time was a major drawback, especially when the restaurant is full. Next time, I would likely choose to dine elsewhere if I had other options.

I absolutely love the authentic Cantonese Chinese cuisine at this restaurant. I have never been let down! I appreciate that they are not flawless in every aspect, as it adds to the overall dining experience.

The service at this restaurant was quick and efficient. My friends and I made a last-minute decision to dine here and were promptly seated and given menus, along with complimentary waters. The extensive menu includes a variety of starters, sharers, standard dishes, and specials. It was refreshing to see a Chinese establishment that offers more than just typical fast food or diner meals. I decided to try the Short soup followed by the deep fried chicken in pepper sauce, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise for my taste buds. I was impressed by the quality of the food and the restaurant's efforts to exceed expectations. The atmosphere inside was pleasant, and I appreciated the attention to detail. I would definitely dine here again and highly recommend it to others. Capital Regent, you have won me over.
