Shaw & Co - TOWNSVILLE CITY

We were in the flinders street, for a night, after a holiday on the magnetic island. really impressed by eating and service. Although the waitress had not come before with a cork in a wine bottle, and how to get them. but after a series of attempts complained. good atmosphere.

A slightly disappointing night that was over 2 yrs in the making. We thought we had booked upstairs but we were all downstairs as I assume a quiet night. I asked for my steak to be on the rare side of medium/rare but it was...far too overcooked. Having travelled over 10000 miles to reunite family, I wasn't going to make a fuss and spoil the night, but I won't be going back here any time soon

Stopped in last Saturday evening for dinner. I ordered the Crispy Pork Belly for an entree and their special Wagyu Eye Fillet for a main. The “crispy pork belly” turned up and was soggy, a little later the waitress came to pick up the plate...and asked how the pork belly was? I replied that it was soggy and not crispy. The reply from the waitress was and I quote, “It is not always crispy”. I was a bit confused as I had ordered from their menu “Crispy Pork Belly”. Onto the main and I do Not mind paying $66.oo for a good piece of Eye Fillet but what they served was less than exciting. Townsville has a lot of very good restaurants and Shaw Co is not one of them. I should also mention that the table top was very sticky and had not been cleaned or wiped down.

Steak was great but wrong sauce definitely not what ordered. Made to feel as if we got what we ordered or ordered incorrectly. Pepper sauce is never super sweet. Steak was cook nicely but unfortunately not the meal ordered.

We had a stop over in Townsville on a Sunday night. Learnt not many restaurants open on a Sunday night. We found Shaw and Co by googling. $8 uber ride later we were there. Nice atmosphere. Great friendly staff. Now the food was delicious. Steaks...cooked to perfection . 2 from our group had the Wagyu steak and they totally enjoyed it. I had the Thai beef salad and it was nice. All very well priced. Would highly recommend.
