The Pavilion Cafe - Tower Hamlets

The woman working at the cash register was handling pastries with her hands, even though she was wearing gloves. However, she continued to touch the cash register and other items with the same gloves on. I purchased the pastry but could not bring myself to eat it due to concerns about hygiene. When I inquired why she didn't use tongs or a food clip, she stated that they sanitize everything daily. I believe this is a poor excuse, as whatever they use to sanitize the cash register cannot be transferred onto food. Additionally, she could inadvertently touch other unhygienic surfaces such as the trash bin or dirty surfaces, which then contaminates the food. It is disheartening and frustrating that some people do not understand basic hygiene standards when working in the food industry. This is unacceptable.

Located directly across from the observatory, this restaurant serves delicious coffee and a wide variety of cakes. The spacious outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying a relaxing meal.

Early morning bagel and croissant with coffee although organic ingredients, terribly overpriced served by rude arrogant staff .

Great hot chocolate and lovely breakfast food. The string hoppers and pancakes are a delight, as are most of their baked goods. Great spot for breakfast if you're in the park

Went to the cafe at around 3pm on the first weekend of July. Half the staff, thats nearly 5 out of the 10 staff members I saw had either their face masks hanging below the chin or their noses were outside the face masks. And, that's two staff members in the kitchen, two at the checkout tills, and one in the bakery section. Ridiculous! It is illegal for an establishment to do such a thing. And, worst thing is that I saw the manager standing in the middle of the cafe. Are you lost or something? The seating outside the cafe, by the lake, is not socially distanced either. There is hardly a distance of one meter between the tables. Now regarding the food, its about 3 out of 5. Because this is the only place inside the park so people have no choice but to go there.
