The Grand Bar in Hotel Norville

Private Function in Beer Garden - Started at 6 and Bar did not open till 6.30 ? No Service at all. Food , platters did not arrive until 7.45 PM --and that was cheese & Bisc? The ordered hot food arrived after 8pm. 2 trays only , then an hour later -2 trays of Pizza. very disappointing. One guest - a Diabetic - went next door to the Irish Club and bought food - Chips etc and returned to the party! Appalling service.

Dinner on a Thu night for a party of 25, a farewell for a work colleague retiring. One bar/wait staff person present who was also looking after the public in the main bar. Another turned up later to look after the party's tables. Meals were ordered from 6.45pm to 7.20pm. Not long after we all sat down we were informed they had run out of fish and there was no prawns. The last person to receive her meal was 9pm as it was dropped on the floor. Not all meals were hot. Cake cutting went ahead even though 5 people had yet to receive their meals after 8.30pm because a family with small children were leaving. I would discourage anyone who mentioned to me about eating at the Norville Hotel especially a group function which may be poorly catered for

Great Roomy Beer Garden , under cover with extensive roof, area for the Band and separate smoking areas and garden areas as well, all with private facilities and own Bar - Great Party Venue - for large groups. Large Gas Heaters were provided to keep it all warm and Cosy. Food was all finger food, it was excellent and hot and plentiful, and served to us.

The food was average, waited a hour and a half for food. When recived meals elements of dishes were missing, undercooked and raw chicken were served. Cesar salad was lacking with over cooked eggs accompanied by a crunchy cockorach completed the evening with no dressing. Poor service, poor food, bad quality and would not suggest dining here.

Never used to visit this pub because of the 'element' of clientele who used to frequent the place. (Been in once over 24 years, to tell the truth). Dropped in last Friday for lunch and perfect. I was the only customer in the place and the bar person said they finally got rid of the bad element that used to frequent here. 200gm Rump, Salad & Chips, $11.90. Served within 15 minutes and not a problem. Steak cooked perfectly, good salad & good chips. The Pepper Sauce was exceptional!!!
