If I had known it was only for an hour, I would have gone elsewhere. We ordered about 5 minutes after we sat down and soon after, our meals arrived before our coffees! My friend had the poached eggs and bacon which she enjoyed. I ordered the Mammoth version of Eggs Benedict which claimed to contain ‘pulled ham’: this tasted more like pork which I did not enjoy and therefore did not eat. Yes, there is a subtle difference in the taste of ham, bacon and pork. Hence that’s why most of us prefer eggs and bacon, not eggs and pork! The plate (pictured) was attractively garnished with shredded apple and cranberries and the two ‘blocks’ of home made hash browns were very tasty and the eggs poached well. The significant amount of pork was still on my plate and the waitress did not ask why. Nor did she ask if I enjoyed it. She was more interested in clearing our tables to seat the next couple.
Visited on Monday 10th February about 3pm for a catch up with my cousin. The coffee and service was great. Loved what they have done with the old shop as well.
Staff ruin this place. The food and coffee is reliably good. The attitude of some staff will make you look elsewhere. They are too busy socialising and generally trying to be cool that they forget they actually get paid to serve customers. The back handed compliments really let you know what they think.
This place is a regular for us. Excellent coffee, fresh juice and outstanding breakfast/brunch menu. You can reserve a table and they manage to rotate customers through
Brunch with family and our first time at Mammoth. We has pre booked and I’m glad we did as the cafe became very busy around 11.30am. Staff were very attentive (even a bit too attentive while we decided on our orders). Great coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone was happy with their meals including eggs Benedict, avo toast, hash browns/Rosti, mushrooms and eggs. Prices are a little more than most cafes so it adds up but the food and drinks were very nice and everyone was happy with a full belly!
