Golden Crust Specialty Bakery - Timmins

I was excited to try this place for the donuts. I got 3; Boston cream, cherry cheesecake, and carrot cake. As well as 2 macarons. The dough on the donuts were very soft and fresh and they were a good size. Cherry cheesecake was by far the best one. The chocolate ganache on the Boston cream was VERY bitter; it threw me off completely. Wouldn’t get again. The carrot cake was mediocre as it was just carrot cake crumbs on top i believe, but not bad at all. The macarons, i do apologize, were awful. The shells were crunchier than kettle chips which is NOT the texture of a macaron. It crumbled everywhere and went from crispy to stale gummy chewy. I threw them out immediately :

Was excited to find raspberry pies but disappointed to discover it was a raspberry jelly pie not raspberries itself. Need to clarify the advertisement. :

Very friendly staff and easy to deal with. Ordering cakes is a super simple process and you pay when you pick up, no deposit required.

Great little bakery. I always stop and get treats when I am in Timmins.
