While the menu wasn't very extensive, it had all the usual breakfast offerings. However, I was disappointed to see that they didn't offer grits, which is somewhat of a staple for a South Louisiana breakfast place. I ordered one of the dishes open-faced, and it was quite tasty. I would have preferred my egg cooked over easy, but I wasn't asked about my preference. The biggest letdown, though, was the sliced cheese—it tasted and looked pre-packaged. Overall, I’ll likely return, but I’ll make sure to ask more questions of our server to get exactly what I want next time.
The espresso here is exceptional, easily earning a 10 out of 10. The food is not only tasty but also fresh, and the presentation is always top-notch. While I've heard some people complain about the prices, let's be honest—this is a coffee shop. A freshly grilled cheese sandwich costs about the same as a bottled tea from any other café. It's common to run into a new barista who is still getting the hang of things, and this is likely where some of the complaints stem from. Don’t let a drink with too much foam or similar issues cloud your perception of this café. As a barista myself, I totally understand it’s perfectly fine to politely ask for your drink to be made again. This place deserves 5 stars!
I waited too long in line to pick up my to-go order—about 10 minutes total. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging me until I checked to see if my order was on the shelf, which it was. I found that quite rude. Additionally, I noticed many customers at their tables without masks while waiting for their food and not eating. It seems like they might be short-staffed. The food is really good, but the sandwiches are thin given the price, and they were barely warm by the time I got home. I've been here about four times before, but today was a bit disappointing.
It is so difficult to find a breakfast place in the Houma/Thibodaux area and so when we discovered Weeping Willow we were very excited. The menu was not very expansive, but had the usual. No geese, what is a kind of summer for a South Louisiana breakfast place. I ordered one of the menu items openly. The dish was very tasty, even though I had just ordered the egg, but I was not asked how I wanted it. I guess the most disappointing aspect was the cut cheese. It looked out and bought tasty business. I'll probably be back, but with more questions to our server to make sure that I get exactly what I'm looking for.
The quality of espresso is 10/10. The food is delicious, comes out fresh and presentation is never neglected. I’ve heard complaints about the prices of food but let’s be real for a moment, this is a coffee shop. A fresh grilled cheese here is the price of a bottled tea out of the cooler at any other coffee shop. It’s not uncommon to encounter a new barista who is still in the process of learning, and I believe this is where the generalized complaints come from. Don’t let something like a drink with too much foam, or whatever, deter your opinion of this café. As a barista myself, it is completely understandable and in no way rude to simply ask for your drink to be remade. 5 stars!
