What a fantastic deal at $69 each (value $165).There was only one other couple at the teppanyaki table with us so it was almost a private lunch experience. Starting with warm gold leaf sake and ending with honey and vanilla crepe the fabulous dishes just kept arriving. Not going to mention all the dishes here (you really need to go to try them all!) but my favourite was the “Flaming Number One Special” whilst my friend’s was the “Lobster Saikyo-Yaki). Sitting at a teppanyaki table is a great experience and our chef was lovely and it was so interesting the see the ingredients transforming before us into exquisitely cooked and presented dishes. Sometimes a degustation meal leaves you still feeling hungry at the end but not this one; we were determined to finish our crepes .. and did .. but needed a lovely walk after all the food. Final touch was the chef writing and upside down (to him!) “Thank you” on the cooled plate in salt/sugar?. We accompanied our lunch with a couple of glasses of a NV Bouchard Aine Burgundy, (a French rose wine).Highly recommended and will definitely be returning.
Meal .. amazing.. always amazing. Food and the chefs extraordinaire are, from my perspective, very good. The atmosphere is usually enhanced by the brilliance of the company and we always manage to meet interesting fun people. :) One of the best parts of the Rocks Kobe Teppanyaki experience is meeting new friends around amazing food. :)
The food was tasty and cooked to my liking. A nice experience for something that little different from the standard restaurant meal. Enjoyed the Traditional Japanese Degustation menu (menu below)
We have just returned from dinner at Kobe Jones Teppanyaki at The Rocks and must say that we were greatly disappointed. We had invited friends visiting from UK to dine with us and told them what a fun night it would be. Couldn't have been more wrong. While the food was ok and there was enough of it the atmosphere was totally non existent. We were expecting at least some interaction with the chef but there was hardly a word spoken, we had to ask what we were eating and were given one word answers. Not at all the theatre and fun we were expecting. We had the chilli lobster among other things and it was so heavily laced with chilli that it completely overpowered the flavour of the lobster and ruined the palate for the next course. The only good thing about the night was that we had bought Groupon vouchers otherwise it would have been not only disappointing but very expensive as well. Could not possibly recommend this restaurant.
Great food and plenty of it. Service not bad but not brilliant. It was a Tuesday night so staffed accordingly. I loved the two tepanyaki chefs working that night and again food was really worth it. Highly recommended
