Cafe Mix - Shangri-La Hotel Sydney

Had the pleasure of trying the Lunar New Year buffet and if this is the standard of their usual buffet, it's definitely worth a visit if you aren't a hotel patron, because it is also open to the public.  Level 2 of the Shangri La Hotel its a beautiful space with tables to accommodate many groups / couples with a view overlooking the metropolitan happenings below.  The seafood was fresh, with a selection of Oysters, Prawn, Mussels, Honey Bugs, Morten Bay Crayfish, also just as crisp were their selection of vegetable and pasta salads.   The hot plate stations offered a great selection of grilling, braised meats (mediterranean lamb was a little dry for my liking, however the pork and chicken dishes were perfect -best thing about buffet is you have options!).  Noodle soup made to order as were dessert.  The dessert display offered nothing but richness and indulgence. What can one expect from the Shangri la other than excellence. This goes for the coffee as well as their super sweets & deserts. Only had time to grab a quick coffee as we rushed out the door though as we had just had a great breakfast upstairs in the Horizon Club earlier

Lovely buffet breakfast inclusive in the Shangri-la accomodation package. Their attentive service and optional a la carte order breakfast is a bonus. A lot of choices ranging from Asian to western breakfast dishes.

I'll give them that the view and customer service is great, but we went for Easter and the food was horrendous. I could have saved $175 dollar and went to McDonald's. Don't waste your time nor your hard earned money coming here! Either hire better chefs or shut down the restaurant! I'm still curious how you managed to get ranked so well when you are literally feeding people mediocre food! I'm going to reach out to their manager and personally file a complaint!
