I'm afraid to say that it fell at the very first hurdle. The building lacks any kind of atmosphere, being very large, cold and badly lit. We waited almost 45 minutes to order and then our food took half an hour to arrive. Very uninspiring it was too. Main course wasn't any better, in fact it was worse. The seafood risotto was so overly salted it was rendered inedible, as was the under-cooked sea bass. We actually couldn't wait to get away. It's always sad to write a negative review and of course we would far prefer to have had a lovely meal and written about it here. It's also sad that we only had three days in Tuscany surrounded by the most amazing food produce in the World and it was wasted at Albergo Pin Rose.
I was last time a few years ago and I wasn't satisfied at all. via friends I knew that he changed management and decided to make the baby's baptism lunch I have to say that the kitchen is far from first all very good, fresh fish and excellent price quality. I recommend it to the great
We were advised by a local to visit Pin Rose if we liked fish, and given that my partner and I are fish lovers we jumped at the chance. Being rather keen and eager we arrived bang on opening at 19.30. We could see that we were very early however Massimo made us feel immediately welcomed and sat us down with a lovely bottle of Prosecco. We had the 4 course set menu for €42 you could not get better quality of food for the price anywhere! We had a trio of starters which comprised of mussels in garlic and olive oil, gravlax and fried white fish fritter. This was followed by second course of Spaghetti with Crevettes and a main course of grilled sea bass and sea bream with vegetables. This was accompanied by a bottle of Organic Pino Grigio. To finish a meringue cream and chocolate dessert and the best espresso. The food was truly fantastic and Massimo was a lovely host. We ended with a nightcap of Limoncello and upon paying the bill were SURPRISED to find that not one drink for the night was charged for! Plus as a parting gift we were given a bottle of Organic Pinot Grigio. This was undoubtedly the greatest dining experience I have had in Italy both from quality of food and generosity from owner. I recommend thoroughly and will be back with family.
More than excellent food and wine. Massimo and family makes the visit to be unforgettable. Thank you, Massimo.
Me and my husband were recommended this place by the locals whilst we were wine tasting in the surrounding region. The place was a little hard to find but don't let this put you off as it's well worth the find!. The hospitality quality of the food was exceptional and service was second to none, The owner was so professional, attentive to all our needs. From start to finish our experience was superb with fantastic food. Be guided by the owner's recommendations with food drink choices and you won't be disappointed. Me and my husband are huge fish eaters and we have to say this is by far one of the best fish restaurants we have had the pleasure in eating in. I would definitely recommend you pay this place a visit and try this for yourselves, i would certainly go go back in a heartbeat!!
