Rosati 's ingredients are top notch and I love the pizza at their Temecula location it 's one of, if not my very favorite pizza places in California. But my trip to the Mission Gorge Rosati 's was SUPER disappointing. I called to place my order in advance, and the person who answered my call was on training. That 's fine of course we all have to train sometimes! But my order was really very simple two Chicago style pizzas, one double peperoni, one onion with half beef and half jalapeno. The order seemed to confuse her (again this is totally understandable, no issues and I was passed off to a more experienced employee. Took longer than it should have to order, but all was still OK to this point. Then I picked up the pizzas. When I got home (a 45 minute drive I found out that the pizzas were wrong. Rosati 's gives the option to have sauce on top, or under the cheese. I ordered cheese on top. But both pizzas were done with sauce on top, which for me and my whole family tastes nowhere near as good as having the cheese on top. The cheese doesn 't get the same texture when the sauce is on top, and it kind of feels/tastes like there 's fewer ingredients. The sauce becomes too dominant. You can argue that I should have checked the pizzas when I was in the store but I had just driven a long distance and then waited in line for a while, and wanted to get home and eat them! ; So I honestly didn 't think of it. (And since these pizzas take 40 minutes to cook, if I DID see they were wrong, I 'd have had to wait a long time for new ones anyway . Also pizza places also sometimes show you the pizza it would have been nice if that happened here, but I think the cashier was also on training. This was an $80 order (the pizzas with 2 ingredients are about $35 each tax and a tip to the cashier , and nearly 2 hours of driving. We live too far away to think of returning the pizzas (no idea if this was even an option , so we just ate them as is. But it was definitely NOT worth the time/effort/money. I don 't know if this 2* review is overly harsh, or fair. Again, this kind of happened due to a new employee being trained, which all businesses go through. And the ingredients were normal Rosati 's high quality. But it sure was unfortunate for us, and we were left with a very bad experience for a very expensive pizza.
Pizza. People. And SPORTS. Winning combination. Love this place. and I've been going for years. Love the thin crust pizza cut in PIE CUT (pizza shouldn't be cut into squares!!! My standard order is 1/2 sausage thin crust with an Antipasto salad. Chef's kiss!!
Went here for a family get together. First impression when walking in is that the restaurant is dirty. The floors are gross. The menus are sticky as are the tables. The waitress was quite pleasant. We ordered a Chicago style deep dish pizza. We were warned about how long it would take and sure enough the pizza arrived in about 45 minutes. Worth the wait? The crust was like cardboard and devoid of flavor. You needed a knife to cut it. The pizza sauce tasted like tomato paste. Shockingly bad.
Ordered a Chicago-style pizza for takeout. Either I drove a little wild, or the pizza really hadn't set, but it came out a bit of a mess at home. That being said, it was tasty (half cheese, half pepperoni). Always looking for that faithful Chicago pizza after going to school there, and Rosati's does a pretty good job on their pies. It's not a perfect substitute, but it's pretty darn good for SoCal!
I usually recommend Rosati 's to all pizza lover 's. My 5yr old loves the beer nuggets. Today they were really overcooked. My daughter even complained asking why are they so hard. I would have brought it back into the restaurant but we live in Murrieta off Clinton Keith. When I called to complain all I received was an I 'm sorry and it didn 't even sound sincere. It is one thing to have terrible food but terrible service is unacceptable. My daughter was really looking forward to her special treat and was extremely disappointed. The pizza also tasted like cardboard. I am just really disappointed because I really liked Rosati 's
