I had the Brie dip and clam chowder. It was amazing! Everything came out quickly, hot and fresh! I am new to the wine world, and my palate only enjoys sweet wine. When I walked up to the bar, trying to explain that I wanted a sweet wine. The Bartender, Crystal, jumped in to help me and my friends find the perfect choice. After my first glass, I kept looking for Crystal to tell me what I had ordered, and she remembered my selection! Out of all those people, she remembered me! Crystal was very knowledgeable and sweet. Because of her education, I am now more knowledgeable about wine. My friends and I will definitely be regulars here. This is a must visit winery.
If you love brie then this is the vineyard to visit! They have nice outdoor seating and a grass area to enjoy a bottle of wine. Pair your vino perfectly with a loaf of sourdough bread with baked brie inside. Come on the weekend and they have a live jazz band playing with local shops set up to explore. Friday-Sunday they have pop up shops to check out local vendors.
The only reason I didn 't give a NO star was because the staff is very nice, the Owner on the other hand OMG ... this lady is AWFUL, disrespectful, rude, not professional at all. Without writing a novel about my experience, I will sum it up. There were some issues with our 17 party group. Owner did NOTHING to try to assist with the problem. The owner ended up putting us in the dirty gazebo and leaving us out there to keep us out of her way. Six out of the 20 food items never ended up coming and after 1.5 hours of waiting so we finally reminded them we never got 3 cheese bowls, 2 salads, and 1 sandwich. The icing on the cake, was when we went back into the bar area to order yet another bottle of wine, the owner was mingling with the other group talking to them (as we listened) about US and how difficult we were. She was talking to one set of customers about another set of customers...how unprofessional is that!!! The group eventually walked out and told us how she was talking bad about us and how distasteful that was on her part. After hearing our side the other large group understood our frustration and agreed. There are too many wineries in the area to have to put up with Maurice Carrie 's unprofessionalism. I have also listed this on my podcast, just to share with all, how we were treated. It 's unfortunate as we are just now getting back to some normalcy from the pandemic and then this happens...so sad. Do better owner of Maurice Carrie Winery!
This is a great winery! The atmosphere is very peaceful and serene. The people are wonderful and the wine is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!
Very nice place. Good wine. Friendly and competent stuff. The stopover on the way from LA to San Diego was totally worth it.
