Kassaba Mediterranean - Taupo

While the wait staff were really kind, I am sorry to say I was incredibly disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Donor kebab chicken (Marinated slices of chicken served with rice, salad, yoghurt pita bread as per the menu). My husband and I specifically asked for the chicken to be well cooked and the salad fresh and clean because I'm pregnant. The meat was fine and well cooked, but the salad looked so old that if it was in my fridge it would have been thrown out. Not good enough for anyone, let alone someone who is pregnant.When explained to the staff they were apologetic, which is nice. However, we were still charged the full price. When the bill was queried, the staff said that it was because I had been given extra salad which was subsequently removed from the bill (apparently). I did not ask for extra salad and there was a very small portion of salad which came with the kebab, as per the menu. Its disappointing because there were so many good reviews online. In the future all salad should be fresh and if this cant be achieved this should be explained to the patron to avoid such confusion/dissapointment.

Yummy food and amazing staff! They were very accommodating and our 3 children loved their meal and the atmosphere. Customer service was 10 out of 10.

My meal was the chicken and bacon pasta, and it was exactly as I hoped it would be! The service was very friendly and informative about meal options. I highly recommend this restaurant! Everyone in our party loved their meals and couldn't find fault with their meals. Don't be fooled by the simple decor, this place deserves it's 4.6 out of 5 rating!

My partner and I dined at Kassaba on a Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and visit to this restaurant. We had the 3 course banquet for their special early bird price of $60 for 2 people. This included a generous selection of breads and entrees plus a tasty bowl of coconut mussels. Then the main platter came with a great choice of vegetarian food and salad plus some mouth watering meatballs and chicken. The banquet also allows unlimited top ups on the food you really couldn't get enough of the first time around so we couldn't knock that back and enjoyed a another serve of mussels, meatballs and chicken. Our dessert choice was baklava, very yummy and not over the top pure sugar. Our host was Upe and she was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. Her table and front of house service was consistently excellent. If I owned a restaurant I'd hire her straight away and never let her go!

Absolutely stunning food! Lovely ambience. Friendly staff. You absolutely must come here for beautiful food! I will definitely be going back.
